Here are some more shots from the late '90's. I hope you enjoy these. Still hunting through all my old pictures to see what's there. There will be some more good ones to come....

It has most recently been working on the SH1 Dowse interchange project, compacting the large fill areas. Earthmovers Wellington Ltd owns the machine.

Chris, thanks for the photos!
There was an auction advertised in Resale Weekly around 1991 with an aweful lot of terex scrapers, Caterpillar dozers etc-do you remember it? Any history to it ie who were the contractors involved etc.

great photos pronto the rex is a 3-70 which i bought from green & mccahill that machine is in the south island now.I own the rex you saw on the SH1 contract. It started as a trash compactor for Lower Hutt City Council it was burnt to the ground @ the landfill .The council rebuilt everything taking off the chopper wheels & putting on Caron sheepsfoot wheels. She has a Detroit 8v71T engine.Neil I think the machines were Higgens Contractors from the South Island they had approx 12xS24s D9s&D8s etc.I am sure wabcoman will have info on that company.Regards terexkerry

Cheers terexkerry. Just hunting out some earlier shots of your gear taken above the Tawa motorway and at Pautahanui. Will post these soon. Sad to see there is not much scraper work going on at the moment. Seems Drapers and McJorrows must be all parked up? Someone did say there was a scraper working on the Haywards Hill?
