Just so you don't think we are a bunch of southern hill-billies!!, we usually run this outfit at this weight with a 2 axle interdolly, unfortunately we couldn't on this move as there are access difficulties. We are running on the axle limits of the unit and are restricted to 12mph, its only 1 mile of highway so this isn't a problem.
Also this trailer is equipped with BPW axles all round so we are legally allowed to go up to 16.5ton although there are speed restrictions.

Thanks

Hello Taylor,
Dont rely on the idea that you may run any axle to the permitted design weight even under speed restriction as many county councils and also network rail will not sometimes let you run to the limit,Its not unknown now that even with 16.5 ton axles the weights sometimes are reduced by 20% so there is a very heavy loss in carrying capabilities.
Regards Graham. ;) ;) ;)
