Thought I'd post some old pics that I managed to take of an event that made the national press
Simple story, one petrol tanker leaving what was Oldbury oil terminal collides with a six month old Scania artic that is reversing across his path into a local scrapyard. The tanker driver realises that his tank has been breached so its time to RLF (run like f**k)
Apologies for the poor quality of pics
Jeremy

Re: Tanker Accident
Fire nearly out in this shot but the smoke still towers over a national grid pylon

Re: Tanker Accident
As you can see from this shot there is nothing left of the first tank compartment, the second and third compartments also being breached

Re: Tanker Accident
Yep folks everybody got out alive
The tanker driver was a hero according to the press he ran down the hill with the petrol running down the hill after him and told everybody in a mobile cafe to run
Apparently they all jumped out the back of the cafe and down a grass embankment as the whole lot went up
Bet the breakfast was rather overdone that day
Extra toast with that sir
