Re: couple of oldies parked up
Hi Stuart, think you're correct in your guess work here.
Can't say I've been unfortunate enough to work on such a vintage AEC (Associated Equipments Corp ), have however tried to get out of working on the smaller two wheel drive Bedford TK and KM models. Yuk
We used to call the TK's trash cans, the KM's crap motors and the TM's terrible motors, perhaps we are being a bit unfare here but I could certainly spin you a few yarns on em.
Only the later TM and even later TL had tilt cabs, so quadruple jointed arms fingers etc... a must to work on the earlier ones
Fortunately I spent most my time working on Seddon Atkinsons and whilst their quality left a lot to be desired at least you could get to everthing.
Thanks for posting

Re: couple of oldies parked up
When I worked for Beacon plant in Exeter we had a fleet of Bedford's.One driver called Scotty went to tip his load onto a fire at a spoil tip,got too close, burned his air pipes so he could not drive away. The lorry caught fire,we could not get the MF 200D quick enough to pull it off the fire.It was a total write off.
