I think they called those things with the big flotation tyres "rollygon" or some such thing
I have seen youtube videos of them driving over a girl in the sand dunes in the US back in the day and the girl got up all ok

In the post above with crane mounted on a truck in front of the power pylon, what is the make of the truck ? , looks almost Diamond T

The crane truck is Russian - a Kraz (Belaz) 256B 6x4 or 6x6
