At 39 ton,the lowloader pulls it effortlessly.

Yes Nicky gone are the days of the Gardner engine trucks down to 20mph on the slightest incline; modern trucks just take it in their stride with no real effort, quite amazing really.

Another grim January morning a couple of weeks ago.
70 miles of easy going, then 10 miles of single track, tight country lanes.

Not happy with this setup at all.
I made him put the rest of his chaines on,before it left the yard.
It's the hirers lowloader, but when I'm finished I will pay myself to hire in my usual lowloader company

A tad under secured there Nicky; why some folks would be prepared to have the chance of a lump like that falling off truly baffles me.

It would not have hurt to put another chain around the undercarriage by the dozers other top roller; it only takes one chain to slacken or fail

I've seen worse then that, the Froggies always try to chain or strap their loads with just the one chain or strap it seems...
I always try to put 4 chains on in a cross like, and some rubber underneath the tracks, doesn't move an inch that way ;)

Cheers, Patrick

Saw these at the Dorset steam fair, they were mainly used to haul the older stuff to the fair and therefore weren't part of the show, but I did found them much...er... intriguing... ;)

Cheers, Patrick

Yes Patrick I often love to take a stroll around the delivery trucks to some of the steam fairs that I attend its great to see some of the older kit and its nearly always in relatively good condition.
