Death of a Classic

Post #1 by Jeremy Rowland » Sun Oct 07, 2018 10:46 pm

During my frequent visits to Andrew Beaulah's I came across this classic Leyland Beaver that has been broken up by one of the lads up there  such a shame to break this old motor. She was purchased for her Leyland 600 engine that is going to be fitted into a bus that is currently under going restoration; at least the rest of the parts have been sold to help other survivors but I could have cried when I saw it, she was originally a two axle tractor unit but had the chassis extended, sorry that I have no more details, at least it was not just cut up for scrap.

I share your feelings but at the end of the day we all do what we want with our kit. My personal hate is owners who wont sell at any price but leave the item, car, tractor, truck or lawnmower outside to rot beyond redemption

Angus I agree with you; yes I have seen that too where classic items have been left to rot; as I say looking on the bright side at least the engine is going into a bus that is being restored and the other parts have been easily sold so they will hopefully enable a similar truck to be restored or a currently restored one have vital spare parts.

I prefer the old truck to a bus any day. The cab looks in good nick?

I spy a Snowtrac, and it's not red!
In the last pic there's a red/white cab in the corner, a crane?
If a LandRover doesn't leak oil, it's run out.

Rob it's a Faun crane with a 22RB Supertransit crane mounted on it.
