Same throughout the industry although there are some exemptions such as refuse collection, milk collection, fire service and the armed forces.

Drivers are recquired to take a 45 minute break after 4hours30minutes driving time or 6 hours on duty time. This can be taken as one break of 45 minutes or a 15 minute break followed by a 30 minute break. The daily driving time limit is 9 hours, but can be extended to 10 hours twice a week-but you have to stop again for 45 mins after 9 hours before you can drive the extra hour.Daily rest period -ie between shifts is 11 hours minimum-and you have to take a break of 45 hours once a fortnight. If you are caught breaking these rules you would be fined a lot more money than someone caught stealing in Tescos.
