Small world the picture of the Priestman on the low lowder, i purchased my first JCB a 1971 3D mk2 from d&j Hitchins in Ross On Wye ( Dennis is/ was a very nice chap) that was in the mid 80's and the low loader that delivered it was hauled by an old ERF LV series tractor similar to the one in this link unithttp://www.flickr.com/photos/homer- ... 472970362/

That last photo will have a certain person coming over all sweaty!

Is the rope shovel moving snow in Paris? looks like an Austin A35 in the background. Perhaps winter of 62/63?

Hi David,
The world gets even smaller. I too knew Dennis Hitchins quite well. I bought a 3C Mk 2 from him it was K reg, I think that makes it 1972. I later bought a Cat 951 89A and a Priestman 120 from him.
"No," The 120 pictured wasn't mine as none of mine had a number on the back of the cab.
I had a MF 350 excavator on self drive from Dennis too, I remember it because no one wanted to drive it.
It had it's own strange layout of the controls, I can't remember now which of the two levers controlled the slew, but it slewed left when the lever was moved to the right and vice-versa which was of course opposite anything else we had and very confusing. :? :dizzy:
