Hi Dave
i saw a feature in one of tractor magazines about a restoration of a similar tractor to the one in your photo.Ifi remember correctly,the front axle raised off the ground when the middle axle was lowered.These forwarders still totally require these climate tracks because of bad terrain and driving over branches,tree stumps etc even though they are eight wheel drive.
