Dumper

Post #1 by Laird » Thu Oct 18, 2018 10:58 am

Hi, just about to start a self build near York and could do with a small dumper. Anything considered as long as it starts and runs! Just doing up a 1966 JCB 2 and need to move stuff around the site. :)

I read a magazine called Tractor Farming Heritage and in the back of that magazine are advertisements. In the June issue there are 3 little Dumpers for sale from 525 pounds asking price (Cumbria) to 850 pounds in Norfolk to 8,250 ponds in Cheshire. So they are out there it is just a matter of where you look.

The question really needs to be qualified by the site size, your budget and possibly the timing of your groundwork weather wise.

Here are some completed listing on ebay. Distance and untruths might be a problem! A lot of the really old 2wd dumpers may only have a gravity tip. Better than a wheel barrow but a PITA in reality.
