Hi,
I remember a few Jones KL cranes about, only one I had anything to do with was a KL44 at Six Bells Colliery in South Wales.
I always thought all the models were built on the same lines, but I've never seen one with hydraulic derricking before.
The only KL33, ( 3 Ton), I remember was at Ryeford Saw Mills, Stonehouse Glos. it was there for many years. There certainly were no hydraulics on that.
I think it had a 2 cyl air cooled engine, can't remember what make, too long ago.

We had two KL 66 based at Radyr yard when I was an apprentice. Remember rebuilding the engine on one of them. They were used to build up prefabricated 60 foot rail sections at the yard. The last crane of that type I worked on was a Morris diesel electric at a plant hire firm in Exeter. Its engine was a Ford D, the Railway KL 66 had a Lister two cylinder diesel.I remember she was hard to steer.
