In the 1970's a local crane hirer ran a 4 axle 60 ton lifting capacity telescopic Smith Pinguely mobile crane,some sort of venture between Thos Smith and the French manufacturer Pinguely.I only saw this crane a few times and it had a square cab not unlike the Foden crane carriers.If any member has any pics or info about these cranes I would be grateful. :thumbup: Thanks Tim

I have seen a similar arrangement in the past. That style of thing was also used on your English canal system maintenance to prevent the grab going thru the clay liner. Must have been awfully slow to operate. regards ray

I think (pretty sure) that crane is a Coles, Coles Crane Man would probably know better than me.

Spotted on Willington Quay Tyneside last week , Smith truck crane with that Motor Panels cab stuck on front.
