Not wishing to patronise you but you obviously know your stuff.
Do you have the dates of the various acquisitions and mergers etc?
Tony
Thank you for the reply
I should say here that although I'm a long time plant enthusiast (since Childhood) I don't work in the industry so my knowledge has basically come from reading and observing over the years and as such my 'technical' knowledge is only rudimentry. But I've always been interested in the business side of the industry- why some companies have succeeded and other failed, mergers and acquisitions etc.
There is data available for merger and acquisition activity in the industry particularly from trade publications and individual companies, especially public 'Quoted' companies from annual reports, press releases and stock exhange announcements.
Here in the UK both Construction News and Contract Journal have online Archives of articles (text only) going back to the early to mid 90's, which are free to use, though Construction New's cnplus website requires (free) registration.
I've had a very quick dig around and turned up the following for Terex:
1983 Terex Corporation (then Northwest Engineering) bought the Koehring Crane and Excavator Co. from AMCA International Ltd for $22m, gaining the Koehring line of excavators and Lorain cranes plus a factory in Waverly, Iowa. Terex consolidated all its Koehring, Lorain and Northwest operations at Waverly.

''Cranes produces scrap handlers, aerial work platforms, and container stackers. Its well-known brand names include Lorain, PPM, P&H, Bendini mobile cranes, Marklift aerial platforms, Koehring scrap handlers, and PPM and P&H container .
