These are from one of Lincolnshire wind farms.

The 500 tonner is new. Hope they are of interest....

Regular occurence in Whitby (flying boats)where this shipyard is very busy building trawlers but has no slip so uses Sarens 1000 tonner

Hi Gordon, Great pictures, thanks for posting. One question, in my ignorance...I assume that cranes are rated differently to excavators ? Hence a 500 tonne crane means that it can lift a max of 500 tonnes ? Yet with excavators, it appears that a 15 tonne machine weighs 15 tonnes, is that correct ? :dizzy:

Hi, Thanks for the correction, do not know why I said Grove!

About the wieghts, am I correct in thinking that the 500t means that can be lifted at about 2m radus with the jib in its closed state, not exstended and really the max wieght means little as such but means the lift when exstended is more important?
