Two of Baldwins

Post #1 by Jeremy Rowland » Sat Sep 06, 2014 8:01 pm

Spotted today in Brum city centre was two of Baldwins Liebherr cranes; the one was assisting in some work on the Indoor Arena, I may be wrong but I guess the second crane may have been to assist in rigging the larger one?

Just looking at the really long plates underneath the crane on the 5th pic. Just wondering if they needed to spread the weight of the wheels even before they got the outriggers in place?

I could be guessing wrongly here but I would have thought that they were to help to raise the back of the crane before the outriggers were placed because the crane was working on an incline? The front of the crane was actually over a bridge that forms part of the BCN.
