i would say it gets used to move eki matts, general tackle , the large wire rope's used for lifting. that sort of thing. cranes the size of the Demag TC2800 use some heafty and very heavy tackle not the sort you can manhandle :dizzy:

Not just Ainscough.

If you have a set of "Forks" available, you can unload and position Ekki Mats, move lifting tackle around the working area and up until it was frowned upon, a man basket would be fitted to make it easier knocking in Pins and the like.

Some of the continental companies have winch systems added to the machine to allow hoist ropes to be "pulled"

I think Ainscough run around with a 45' Cherry Picker on some of thier jobs because even using harness's and lanyards, the main contractors will not allow any walking on jib sections or use of ladders depending on how high or difficult the rig will be

Was working with Michael Davidson (Driver of TC) last Monday, He's got 2 weeks in Port Talbot, then he's not sure what the plans are for the crane. I enjoy working with heavies, even if its loading trailers.....can be a real giggle.

You Ain't kidding fella, I was out slinging for heavies last monday, 116t block of granite....took me and 3 (Mike was one)others 6 hours to sling it and no space for a telehandler, the wires and shackles where a touch heavy! Just go get that 75t shackle Gaz!!!!! :dizzy:
