yanmar ym1702 tractor stops

Post #1 by hillbillynations » Sat Oct 12, 2013 4:34 pm

hey fellers i have a question about a yanmar ym1702 ive owned mostly johndeeres. i bought this tractor off a guy at a steal. i put in new piston and rings and bearings. im not to familiar with these tractors but when i pull up on a hill and mash the clutch the tractor just stops. wont roll backward. then after a minute or so its like it releases-rolls-stops-releases-rolls-stops :? i can put it in neutral and it rolls fine am i missing something :?: info wise that is

yes it has a clutch but from what i gather the tranny also has a powershift meaning you can shift on the go

yeah mate understand it has a clutch but does it have a brake on the input shaft to stop it spinning when clutch is pushed all the way to the floor makes it a lot easier to get into gear when stationery as it stops the shaft quickly you wont have to wait for the shaft to stop spinning most older tractors I drive have clutch brakes for easier changing and quicker engagments
