Many years ago used to drive a Dexta with an aluminium alloy bucket least that size for clearing the wood shavings and poo out of broiler chicken houses!

Hi Chaps, my first post on here so I hope I'm not covering old ground (so to speak...).
I live very close to the location of the CCC factory so I have a bit of a soft spot for these machines and have seen some very strange things. There were two versions of the 1164 Victor cab, one had a narrow vertical window, probably 6-8" wide between the door hinge and the side window - I dont know why - I am aware that some CD50 crawlers were made with an extra dummy transmission case to extend the wheelbase and were known as 'Long Swamp' tractors but I don't think this was the case with the 1164 unless it had the Brockhouse torque converter option perhaps.

They are called the "Long Cab". Reasons for this was either a County/Howard reduction gearbox or a dummy box, sandwiched between the gearbox and rearend.

I think the 1184 also got this "dummy box" sandwiched inbetween to give the operator some more space in the cab.

The wheels are all of equal size - it just looks different in the photo because the front wheels are turned I guess. i thought the same until I saw it in real life:)

Going back to the creeper box topic, this was an option on all the equal wheel models except the Tw based versions I think. The dummy box ( just an empty creep box) came about later as mounted kit got bigger this lengthened the wheel base which assisted weight transfer and also went some way to alleviate the bounce these tractors suffered at speed on the road This option was quite common on later 774,974 and 1184 models. I have an 1174 with creep box and in the lowest of its 32 forward gears you can hardly see it move!
