Essexpete is correct, the brakes on the B250 are as he describes them and they are easy to check.
Disconnect the brake linkage and remove the brake housing, four or five bolts and you will find the two brake discs on a splined shaft with the expander between them.
The two halves of the expander are held together with springs and the balls are between the two halves.

Hi Phil, yes they are dry and the left side is the easier one to strip, the right side has the diff lock passing through it.

Sorry I don't know where you could download a service manual from.
I guess you will have to get the spanners out and strip her down, when you get in there you will see what a simple system it is.

will do, i expect to see a component that had broken loose and is jamming the barake on in reverse - fingers crossed.
