For the last few months I have been (as and when) rebuilding a little CAT D5 for H.G.Heath near Stratford upon Avon, these are the people that build the Bale trailers, the one in the pic's is different to the latest units as they are fitted with an extra wheel at the front to assist with stability when the draw bar is off set, they also farm a lot of ground with some right smart tractors including CAT rubber track tractors, the Combine they use is a fancy bit of Iron called a Tera-Track, this is a big old banger with rubber tracks at the front and wheels at the rear, I will take a few pic's.

Hi Roly, We've not even started yet, would probably hve been this (last) week if not for the weather. I expect we'll be making a start late this next week if the weather improves. I'll be sure to take some Pics !

Hi Neil, I've had a look around, but can't find any pics of the 865, I will take some and post them over the next few weeks when (hopefully) our harvest gets underway.
Do you have an 865 ?

I hear wheat prices have took a tumble from feb high but your spray prices have rocketed
and they will not even give you a price for fertilizer for next year yet but
still expect you to order now, The suppliers must have heard you had a good year
and they now want a big slice of it

Thing is Bob, most of the winter wheat around the west country is STILL in the fields, some of it is even going black, and the spring barley & oats are starting to look tired, so they can put their fert. prices up all they like but if the boys don't get a decent return on their crop this year they may just tell them where to stick their £500 a tonne seed bed fert.

saying wheat was chitting in the ear,we cut 200 ton wheat yesterday started 10am at 19%

Flippin' 'eck Roly, brother got a price for 0.20.30 seedbed fert. 2 wks ago and they were around the 500 pound mark......want some?
Yes, the wheat is looking pretty poor down this way, who'd have thought we would have had 2 wet summers in a row, but it sounds as if you're having more luck with the weather than us.

these old 8070,s will still cut over 100 tons per day each, not bad for a 30
year old (1978) the other we had new in (1985)to date two hours combining
left then finished for another year.
