I tried this technique for the first time yesterday as i've seen pictures of this being done by an American / Alaskan operator Randy Krieg on the American HEF forum. Me being me i had to have go as i like learning new things with the grader i operate for Chepstow plant. Randy can put the moldboard in this position in 60 seconds but this took me about 5 minutes as i was checking the clearances around the machine as i didn't want to rip off any pipes , wires or damage the chassis as the moldboard swings underneath the machine, once done you have a good view of the material your pulling back.

I knew it was only a matter of time before you got right at home! However, I've been told I've been backward for years!!!!

Its a proper grader, lower spec than normal. 4wd, no circle sort of pat blade. Independant raise and lower, blade pitch, side shift, power and both ways. Scarifyer, handy for the light machine and bucket (not used on this contract ).
To be fair it works well. Only dissapointment is that the controls are n't servo which is ok except for simultaneous raise and lower which takes a lot of practice to get the feel right.
Did the job and thats what counts.
