Few details of the 16M - 297HP, just over 26 tons in operating weight, just shy of 10m long and a top speed of 33 and a nalf MPH.

Man they look weird without a ripper Stuart but i have noticed over the years it is the trend in the UK not to have rippers on 16,s? Saw same in the Cat vid series by G Miller i think it was and the 16,s at Stobswood were ripperless.

Funny you should say that GAV. Until I moved to Canada Ide never seen a Ripper on a Grader.
Different in the UK, The last mine I worked at .. The ground was soil and Clay (Sloppy Slurry MUD)
Some rock as well but nothing like Mountain top mining. No -30's either.

Here's one of UK coals 16M's working at Lodge House OCCS in Derbyshire....theres actually 2 of them on site but i only managed to photograph this one. Check out my topic in the workplaces section for pics of the other machines on site.
