Aveling Barford Grader

Post #1 by bulldozer1 » Wed Feb 01, 2023 9:30 pm

Hi, has any body got any manuals for an Aveling Barford Super MG MK4 with a leyland 401 engine. It is in good order just needs hydraulic pipes replacing and a lick of paint, everything works on it and it starts easily.
Thanks in advance

Hello Neil,Just seen this post on the forum. We have all the manuals for A-B equipment. Our Facebook page if you tune in is Aveling Barford Machines ( as distinct from the other A-B pages).
As we only sold that model to the Forestry Commission and the Army, and a few into Ireland, I wonder where it came from?. With the serial number I have all the later build sheets as well.
You can Email me on lampstyle@yahoo.co.uk.

Hi Yewman thanks for this my machine is an ex army one I believe as it is painted in army green. the serial number is MG1732 it says MGH also.
I would love an operating and service manual if you would sell one, I will look on your facebook page and I can also email you as well.
Thanks once again.

Hi Neil,
The chaps over on the HMVF website may be able to fill in a bit of it's military history.
If a LandRover doesn't leak oil, it's run out.
