Welcome to the wide brown land for when you get here if you get bored and head north to Townsville give us a shout at Ayr on the way through and can come and kick a track or wheel have drink and fir up the BBQ sweet a bucket load ect who knows might even kiss a cane toad seeya have fun and be ready for a hot chrissy

I'm still trying to download and eddit 20 plus m.b. of pics an videos, but here's a brief look at some of the Austrailian haulage scene.
Most trucks out there have "DOGS" :?: :?: :?:
A dog is anything on a lead behind a truck. :lol: :lol:

I have noticed many American trucks are used in oz......do you know if they are all imports or are any of them manufactured out there??

Richard there was a day when there were many British made lorries out there too; all gone now though :cry: I know that Atkinson built trucks there at one time but that was many years ago now.

The reason i ask is because they mostly seem to be right hand drive, but i cant recall seeing any right hand drive American trucks in the UK.
I may be mistaken tho :think:

Hi Jeremy,
Here's an Atki I cought up with at one of the shows, and a few more Brit trucks.
Sadly I don't think any trucks are made in Oz. now, (except possibly Iveco)???
GM Holden, (Vauxhall), Ford and Toyota are all set to cease car production by 2017. The story goes that Toyota have been experiencing union troubles and the last straw was when on the Monday after Auatrailia Day (Jan 26th) only 60% turned in for work with the rest reporting sick.

we still have trucks made here Mack of course Kenworth Volvo Iveco or International the ACCO model is all thats left there now Aussie designed and built since the 60's

top truck and dog called a quad dog

2nd Mack Vision with flowcon trailers

3rd another Mack with a tag float

4th B double with a Kenwood micro wave

last B double hooked to lead trailer to make a road train wit the iced vo-vo up the front
