Go karting

Post #1 by SRB » Sun Mar 30, 2008 8:30 pm

As the first of the 777D's rolled out the yard t'other week, Took the lads who've been working on them out go karting for a night.

Went to our local track in Fradley, near Lichfield for an Hours endurance race!

Naming the event the Finning And Rental Trouphy cup, or FART for short, we set about with qualifying before going on to the main event.
Split into teams of 2, we were racing for a hour straight.
Tactics in pit stop choices and driver changes played a part and after 60 min and 138 laps we had a winning team.
My team managed to came in second (despite every dirty tactic we could use, and after demanding a recount several times) then it was off to the pub, where the winning team bought the first round!

A good time had by all.

If any one is local and fancys a go the companys web site is here: http://www.midlandkarting.co.uk.

Carting is soooooo cool!
I joined a team (4 persons in total) for a 8 hours marathon carting some years ago.
It was GREAT fun! My arms felt like three times normal size ... and I could not turn the head for some days ...

But we did not have such a cool name (FART). :D
