Just heard off Jack (on here) that the guy that designed the Cat 5110B 90 metre UHD machine has been tragically killed by it whilst in the workshop having modifications done! Apparently the ballast block sheared its mounts and killed him.....not sure how much it weighs (im guessing around 40ish tonnes) so i dont think he's have known much about it.........anyway may he

Re: Cat 5110 90m UHD kills the visionary that thought of it!
It is not correct that the man that designed the TUHD 90. Read good the news. It was the owner of STC, mr. Ad Swanink. He designed the Hitachi 870-3.s with 50m boom from NKR and AD Demolition, the 870-3 triple from van Vliet and the 5110b triple. And he had more some nice and best machines manufactured. He should solve the problems which couldn't be solved by Rusch, and a design failure caused the collapse and make it happen that counterweight bolts broke and fellt of. So read good news. because it was not correct.
I had lost one of my best friends and one of the best people in this world. Ad Swanink should be always in my mind.
