Just got myself a CAT 5110B excavator off ebay and I plan on stripping it and repainting it.
Im thinking white and black, black hydraulic hoses and hydraulic cylinders. keeping the black tracks and all the black decal/stripes on the side too.
similar to the one in the link but with the black hoses and cylinders

Will swap all plastic handrails for brass. Someone has already done this colour scheeme on DHS
Anyone got any other suggestions?

Yep thats a nice livery and something different so go for it; but I must confess that I loathe the black cylinders on modern machines they look crap.

I reckon you can't go far wrong with a Beelen Sloopwerken repaint and custom boom/dipper/bucket while you're at it.
I also remember seeing somewhere a Syncrude version - red with yellow handrails - looked very different.

Jeremy,
I know what you mean about the black cylinders, I quite like them on the modern machines against the CAT yellow but not sure about them being black against the white. I suppose I could leave them white with black hoses.
Richard,
I have seen the Syncrude version - red with yellow handrails, I didnt really like it, I think the guy that did it left the plastic handrails which looked really big and daft with the yellow paint on. They may have looked better with thinner brass ones.

You could always go an original route..........
Try a Taylor Woodrow lime green!
or maybe a Miller Mining Blue!
Just a thought! (probably should keep my thoughts to my self)
