Had this on my bench for a while and building it when I am in the mood, I built it up all up dry first and then glued it all together, nearly there all the finishing off bits take forever

Re: O&K RH300 KIT
That's looking really good. I've got one too - been sat in a box in the shed for years as one day i'll get round to it.
Some parts are in bad shape - the cab moulding has warped and will need to be replaced - probably with a brass cab instead.
I still can't decide on livery - NSM yellow (I've also got a WABCO 170C?? to build in the same livery) or O&K Red / Grey - both look good but for me there's just something about the red/grey livery.
How did it all go together - did you have many problems?.
When time allows kit construction, also got the RH90C backhoe, RB195 face shovel, RB195 dragline and a bottom dump coal hauler amongst others.

Re: O&K RH300 KIT
All the resin parts were very good, the handrails were in very bad order and needed great attention, I have some parts missing like all the etched walkways and the cab roof and I am having to have new NSM decals done as the ones supplied were Codelco but after all that very happy, it is a excellent addition to the fleet. I would like to find a RH90 myself but dont have much luck
I will post more pics as progress allows
thanks Andy

Nice kit, looks well detailed too. How long have you had that? I take it they are no longer available?

Re: O&K RH300 KIT
I have had the kit approx 9 months, compared to the RH340 its lacking fine detail but never the less a fine model, they were made by OHS and im not sure how many were made but the production run was supposed to be approx 100. There is alot of resin in the major castings but the undercarriage and tracks are white metal which makes it very heavy and stable.
Thanks Andy

Re: O&K RH300 KIT
I suppose you could add some nice brass detail to it if you wanted?
I would love to get hold of one, but the chances of that are probably pretty thin!

Yes Stu, OHS bad reputation, alot of people have had there fingers burned severely, I have 3 items of plant from him and all in all they have come out very good but I have to say I have heard of some horror stories

Re: O&K RH300 KIT
Andy,
Horror stories - that's an understatement - don't get me started!
The RH300 originally came out around 2005/2006 I believe, the kit going for around the £700 mark I think.
This was around the time OHS started to get expensive and the rest as they say, is history.

Re: O&K RH300 KIT
What livery will you do yours Richard, I chose the NSM just to be different for once but it would be nice to have a second machine in the red and grey, now i have one machine it is possible to duplicate a second. I have had several conversations with Roddy Turner who would reproduce one in brass, I would just have to save up a bit.
Thanks Andy
