My new crusher arrived today. But ..........

Post #1 by niner » Fri Apr 13, 2012 10:31 pm

It's in a shocking state.

I have been after a crusher model for a while and this was on ebay, turned up this morning and it was loose in it's box and nearly an inch thick in dust, the listing said it had been on display for a short while!

In the process of trying to sort things out with the seller, in the mean time here are some pics.

The dust!

The broken bits.

The broken bit's are easily fixed, it would just take some cleaning

Well, I have come to a deal with the seller and I'm keeping it, spent a couple of hours yesterday cleaning it up and it's like new now. The broken bits shouldnt be too hard to fix with a bit of patience.

I will get some better pics up over the next couple of days.

Hi Martin, a ladys Bronzing Brush (makeup brush) is very good for taking dust off, it is very soft and will not break small parts off the model. They cost about £1 out of Primark,s, not that I use makeup, Ha Ha.

The fact you know about the bronzing brush is ok, but what worries me is the fact you know where to buy them and how much they are :D :D :D

I used a soft paint brush and some cotton buds in the end, did a good job!

Managed to get some 'working' pics tonight, not the best location (lack of room) but it's great how the addition of some gravel brings a couple of models alive.

I think I need to get to the quarry this weekend to get some small bags of various sized granite chippings and dust.

LOL I know, I tried to pick out the smallest stones to come off the belt then I though, sod it!

I know where to get my pickings of stone from in my local quarry so I will get up there over the weekend and get some.

It will be sharper gravel too so will look the part over the existing pea gravel I have at the mo.
