Model Paint

Post #1 by Dah » Mon Sep 19, 2016 10:02 am

Morning,

I would like to strip the paint on a corgi low loader -0 has anyone had any experience of using regular DIY paint stripper on diecast models? I assume it doesn't effect the metal at all but wasn't sure being diecast?

Thanks,
Dave

Dave....I use stuff from B & Q on my Spot-on Cat d9's (also made of diecast) works just fine...it's called DIAL so probably their own brand.
All DIY paint stripper stuff nowadays is a lot weaker than it used to be due to H&S legislation so 2 or 3 go's may be needed to do the job properly..

Still toxic though.so keep away from eye's and plastic/rubber parts....

Hope this helps some
