Hi
Has anyone had experience of using a primer for styrene board, metal, wood and MDF?
My model is a combination of all materials and ideally I want to use one primer on the lot.
Halfords plastic primer seems a popular choice on modelling sites.
Thanks
Dave

Re: Primer Choice
For any sort of metal, I'd go for the UPOL acid etch primer from Halfords. The one in the red can. I've used this on styrene in the past to give a key, then gone over with a coat or two of normal primer before rubbing down and top coat.

Just want to make sure I don't use anything that might melt the styrene!

Dave I think you'll find that all paints supplied by Halfords are now acrylic and not enamel so as acrylic is a plastic based paint it should not react with styrene.

If you are not sure, you can always get a 1k aerosol spray isolator which should stop any kind of reaction from happening, you will find it on Ebay just search 1k aerosol isolator.
