NZG Komatsu WA1200. White Edition

Post #1 by niner » Thu Feb 19, 2015 8:11 pm

Here she is!

Very impressed with the model, nice and heavy, good turning circle, carry angle and bucket height.

The tyres are impressive with soft rubber.

Lots of photos including some to compare with the Tonkin 994.

Just short of £300 for it Jeremy. Limited run of 100.

I have the LT too so they will sit together quite nice.

Hi folks,
My Komatsu WA1200-6 /yellow version/ arrived couple days ago. It is fine model but when I put together with Caterpillar 994F, CAT 994H and Le Tourneau L1850 with rock bucket 33 cub yards or 25.23 cub. m. I found something vey interesting:
Both CAT models have smaller buckets as in the real machines but Komatsu's bucket volume looks equal or even slightly larger than Le Tourneau's. I compared the heaped volume with sand and both bucket volumes are equal.
If we assume that the scale is OK, what is the actual volume of the buckets? I've never heard that Le Tourneau L1850 use so small bucket /20 cub. m./ or the opposite - Komatsu WA 1200 uses so large bucket of 25 cub. m. May be the bucket of Le Tourneau is for materials with higher density 2.2-2.4 t/cub.m. rather than normal 1.8t/cub.m.?
