It's an old model this one with not a lot of detail so when i got hold of one I decided to break it down, strip the paint and start detailing it. I'm a long way off yet but this is it so far.
Started adding detail to the bucket in the form of wear plates and lifting eyes. All details have been taken from photos of the real thing.

Not really Jeremy, I think it will go back to the standard model livery, yellow and black.
I'm open to suggestions along the way though.

I think this model may have been offered in a white livery as well as the standard Cat livery but I may stand to be corrected on that? Should look the business either way once you have finished detailing it.

Yes, I believe it was done in white and black and I had thought of that.
I have the paint codes for the CAT yellow primer and paint, just waiting to get near a CAT dealership now.

I'd say go back to the yellow and black myself! Never been a fan of the white version! The bucket looks great mate! It's amazing what abit of styrene can do to enhance something!

I used NitroMors. It's what I used to strip all my models. To be honest I've not tried anything else.

There was something I forgot to mention on your dhs thread, seeing as this has been stripped of all decals, how are you going to replicate the side vents, as those we're very finely done in decal form?

My plan is to add the vents off a JOAL Komatsu PC1100. Not sure how it will look yet.
I want to sink them in on both sides flush with the casing.
