The Classic Machinery Network

I've not posted here for a while so thought I would share my latest project.

I've had this WA800 on the shelf for a while and though I'd better get my backside into gear and do some custom work on it.

A lot of my ideas have come from various photos of the real machine on google.

So far I've done the following.

Radiator fan, cut out the rear grill, removed the chunky cab ladder handrails and replaced with brass, tow hitch and handles and tread plate just behind both rear wheels.

















I plan on putting the rear grill on a hinge so it opens. It will all get a touch of paint when it's done.

Looks great so far! I might try something like this with one of my bigger scale models! The smaller 1/50 scale models I collect would probably be too fiddly for my sausage fingers! Haha

I'm actually thinking of doing a complete re-paint now, at least that way it will be uniformal and I don't have to worry about matching the yellow paint for the handrails to the existing yellow.

Any suggestions on a paint scheme?

Thanks pascal. I was going to do a re-paint but I'm not going to bother now. I have a re-paint on a PC1100 excavator to do.

A bit of work done over the last couple of weeks.

Hydraulic hoses and couplings to the bucket ram and through the articulation point.







Tonight I added a windscreen wiper and mirrors.
