Going back just over 25 years my dad worked in the local granite quarry as a driller/shotblaster and I remember going up there at weekends when he needed to move or maintain the rig.

It was a rig like this, Ingersol Rand.

I would love to get old of a scale model if possible. Does anyone know of any?

Be nice to set up a little diorama in memory of him.

Martin, They do exist and are very nice....... but you will need to open your cheque book! It's made by Wilson Models.

Brilliant, thanks for that, just the thing.

Only prob is it's $950 and not diecast :(

I wonder if an email to Atlas Copco might come up trumps?

Sent an email to Buffalo Road Imports and they stopped making this model 2 years ago, they sold the last one 2 weeks ago. Typical! :|

Cheers for the link, I appreciate that.

As tempted as I am at the moment I think the model is pretty basic and lacking detail for the price :|

I Got one, really made up! It was on ebay recently and I won it. The seller was a driller by trade and the model was made for him about 30 years ago. The spooky thing was, the seller knew my dad, worked with him on a few jobs around the world including the Falkland Islands, what a small world!

I'm not sure of the scale and it's pretty well detailed, just needs a good clean and I will get some photos up.

Well, here are some pics.

The rig is screwed to the plinth and I think I will leave it that way. The seller told me that it was built for him by a modelmaker oabout 30 years ago.

I have cleaned it up best I can with water and cotton buds, there are a few spots where the paint is missing but I'm not sure whether to re-paint it or leave it as it is.

Not sure of the scale, you can see it next to my 1:48 CCM D10 if anyone could give me a rough guesstimate that would be great.
