Word is that the 3C wont be available by itself till next year .. and it will be "weathered"

Pictures of new model now on dealers websites ,Release date Dec08 -June 09 !,looks good ,amazing this is the first Diecast model of a 3C by a British manufacturer.(Not many made by foreign ones either NZG did some ,Siku made toy like 2B ,and Tomica made a 3D ).I believe Spot-On made a protype 3C in 1960's but a factory fire stopped production.

Martyn-I was just guessing with the Siku as it has a slope back windscreen. Theres no reference to JCB on the model but I know the 3C had this cab for a short while as well so i'm sure your right.
Keep meaning to have a go at chopping /detailing one of the tatty Sikus I have ,its not to bad a model except for undersize cab and 'alloy' wheels
Heres the Tomica 3D ,worth a mint if you've got one;

Re: New Universal Hobbies JCB Majorloader! 1/16th!
The Sikus were made without permission from JCB ..hence the lack of yellow and JCB logo, and they put "hot wheels" on it and yes the cab was slanting on the early JCB's mk2's, JCB thought that the operator would get a better veiw of the bucket in a raised position, but what happened was the operators were still used to the 3C mk1 and to see the front bucket on the ground they used to stand up.. they still had that habit when the mk2 came .. so there was a few banged heads on the slanting screen, so they reverted back to the old type front window in early 1970.
As for the Tomica i cannot comment on that model ..i know only a few were made

Interesting stuff about the cabs Martyn. Did the 3 keep the slopey back windscreen ?
I've never seen a Tomica 3D either ,the one in the picture went for £340 at Vectis auctions.
