Hi

New member here, with a mistery dumper, can anyone help identify it?

Engine is a Lister ST3
Axles are Hamworthy, with inboard brakes and hub reduction units

We have a good running engine, which saddly rotates the wrong way  , still thinking about that problem. I need to identify it in order to road register it.

Thanks

Richard

Greetings Richard, and a big welcome to CMN

I am sure some one will be able to identify your dumper, i have to say it looks to me like a Thwaites that has been modified .. but then i am not an expert on dumpers, i only used to load them up

Hi Martyn

Thanks for that, I have contacted Thwaites, but they said they did not make it, and suggested Winged, who said they didn't make it and suggested Thwaites!

Hi

I have lowered the bucket and put the rear covers on, hopefully this will help someone recognise it, the back cover is unusual?

Thinks its a Stothert and Pitt , could only find this pic on the net of one, but I remember they were advertised quite heavily in the construction press in the 1980's so bet someone on here has a better pic.
Any brave soul tried to do a complete list of British dumper manufacturers ! by 1995 we were down to Barford, Benford, Compair, Liner, Mortimer, Powerfab, Roughneck, Thwaites, Winget, plus a few tiny powerbarrow makers .

I reckon Craig is right, I saw one in a farm sale a few years back. It looks well built.

Hi

Brilliant, thanks guys.

I have contacted Stothert and Pitt , who gave me the number of an ex employ, who identified it as a Stothert and Pitt SXD030, 3050kg payload.
He is sending me a full service manual.

I will keep posting and let you know how I get on

Thanks again

Richard
