Re: VOLVO A25
The A20 and A25 Volvo ADT's always stick in my mind as they are the only full-size ADT's I've seen with a single body tipping cylinder. Perhaps its just me not seeing so many different manufacturers machines (Volvo seemed to have built most ADT's that I've seen over the years) but it always struck me as going against the norm. When did Volvo change over to the more conventional dual-ram design?
This particular A25 was involved with land clearence work at the old Neptune shipyard site prior to the construction of the new Tyne Tunnel segments. Basically being loaded by a Hitachi EX455 (working alongside a Moxy 6227S) with broken concrete, hauling it over to a pile, the material rehandled by a Case CX210 into a crusher. The crushed material was heaped by a Komatsu WA380 loader.
It was interesting to get these pictures being on the other side of the river, not bad results though, especially since they were freehand shots.

Very nice picture! I could almost picture that being down by Choppington somewhere.
The excavator looks like a pre-800-series JCB machine, an 8C/8D perhaps? Maybe one of the later 7 machines.

Re: VOLVO A25
i worked for Kelston on the A303 ilminster bypass, got some pics here somewhere , but will need to find them & scan them to get them on here, I started off pushing traffic light buttons , then a ford 5000 with sweeper then onto the haulers ,he was still running 860's along side the 5350's ! About the summer of 87 when the first A25 turned up as i was moved off a 5350 onto an A20 fleet No 426 ? if i remember rightly ? will have to find the pics as the inside's of me head is getting a bit fuzzy back in the memory department ,
