Bell B25D close up pics of drive shaft

Post #1 by Renaultman » Wed Feb 18, 2009 12:57 am

I took these pics of a Bell B25D that is working on a sea defence near me. I've never seen a setup like this before, I've only see the driveshaft go straight into the diff lock housing. Is Bell the only ADT that has a break om the shaft, don't like the idea of that with all the sand around.

Ye, we had one on the pipeline and it stalled going up a 6 inch step. More driver error I think.

Park brake on Drive shaft is a common occurance, they are normally high enough out the way to avoid all the crap and poop that gets thrown oop.

Its a wee transfer gear on the diff input, not sure who'se axles they are running at the moment, use to be ZF then changed to Bell'sown axles.

Yeah, Volvo Use a Driveline P brake, Spring Chamber, Air release and Spring applied. The Newer A40E's use brake packs.

The D350 and D400E's use a Park brake like that except the CAT design was rubbish, CAT use Hydraulic release.

The Diff looks like it has a Reduction.
