Thwaites 1tonne dumper/forklift/portable toilet!

Never seen forks on a dumper before or after this was seen at Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Cowes Week had just finished at the time of my visit and the dismantling of the stalls and so on was ongoing. A Toyota forklift was being kept busy as well, a 5FG25 2.5ton model, gas powered.

Should be back there again next year, my main interest is the large black giant cantilever crane at Cowes and more lately a smaller green derrick crane further upriver. My attempts at finding out who owns the land on which it sits however have so far resulted in failure. I'd like to get a closer look at it; seems all the internal winding/movement gears and such are still intact! Very rare for something built in the 1950's or earlier...
Look out that window, Eden isn't burning. Its burnt.

Now this is the new idea for councils, saves them money on maintaining public loos, all the guy has to do is drive round the town all day long and if some one wants the loo they just stop him ... the skip is used to empty the loo .. saves going to the water treatment works every half hour .. if successful the council plan to use 6 tonne dumpers.

We we setting up a vintage show field some years back, one of the potoloos was sitting on a pallet with a forklift, its forks under the pallet. My mate Gwyn went to use the potoloo.A few of us saw him go in,one of the boys lifted the loo with the forklift to a height of 5 foot.We were shocked by the bad language eminating from the toilet as Gwyn realised what had happened

Note to self...never use a portaloo when there is a loader/forklift or crane of any kind within sight.

Tell you what lads after the bad KFC we had at work for lunch today, this Thwaites would have been ideal to get rid of our toilet :insomnia:
