Being a diesel the wiring will be very simple. What is the problem you need to resolve, starting or charging system?

Many parts are non genetic so tractor shops an alike even some car spare parts will do the job.
Does the engine turn over or not? Is the battery fully charged?
The first thing you need to do is to establish what is the problem. To trace an electrical fault you need one of two things, a multi-meter OR a test lamp. If no meter than the test lamp from an auto parts store will certainly help you find where the issue is. These look like a screwdriver handle with a light inside, a pointy end and a wire with a clip coming out the handle. Connect the clamp to earth and follow the power supply from battery to switch in then turn the switch on and test that it is power coming out and so on. From the switch out to the solenoid on the starter. Is there a good connection from battery to starter motor?
If you need a more comprehensive description I will do my best to help.
I forgot to mention that many parts for your electrics will be available at an auto electrician store.

Hello Holger,
Sorry I haven't picked up on this post before.
You say there is no power to the ignition lock, (switch).
As has already been said check the battery is fully charged and battery connections OK. The live lead from the battery will run directly to the large terminal on the starter solenoid. There will also be a cable , (usually brown), connected with a large eyelet or spade connector to that same terminal.
This cable is the feed to the constant live terminal on the ignition switch and also passes current in the opposite direction when the engine is running to charge the battery.
For there to be no power at the switch there must be a break in this circuit, check this lead for continuity.

Use a screwdriver to short out firmly but briefly the small spade connector on the solenoid energiser cable to the large battery to solenoid connection terminal. If the starter kicks you will be sure there is no problem there.
Also check the continuity of this energiser cable between the solenoid and the ignition switch, this cable is often white with a red tracer.

I don't know the dumper but if there is a safety switch to prevent the dumper starting whilst in drive :?: :?: The energiser cable could be routed through the switch if fitted :?: :?:
Let us know how you get on and I ma be able to be of further help.

Fred

I never thought about a safety switch because my stuff is a lot older. So with that in mind ensure your hand brake is pulled on and gearbox in neutral and maybe if it is anything like what my rideon mower is like you have to be sitting on the seat.
If you have power going to the switch from the solenoid one to check is power comming out of the switch when you switch it to start.
How many wires are at the switch please?

He found the problem. The ignition lock was damaged and one relais was also not working.
Now he has bought some parts and will try to replace the items this weekend.

Thank you for your help!

Glad you have found the problem/s. Hopefully the relay he bought matches the one removed as there is a couple of different ones, 3, 4 and 5 terminals so as long as the numbers underneath match the one being removed your all good. It is rare they fail. Ignition switches when misbehaving sometimes can be pulled apart and simply cleaning the contacts fixes the problem and sometimes they are simply stuffed. Glad your on track now and let us know how you get on.
Cheers Cobba
