Compair Holman 4t dumper

Post #1 by Corranaheen » Thu Feb 15, 2018 12:12 pm

Hi
Has anyone come across this before. With a full load in the skip my dumper will not dump unless I lock the steering fully. Reading from hydraulic pump 600 psi.
Anyone know the spec for the filter on return side of hydraulic system, it sits in a cast housing on top of the mudguard/tank.
Also anyone got a wiring diagram for the charging system. Lister petter ts3 engine.
Thanks for reading this.

hi

If you type in Lister Petter TS3 on the Internet search, David Cornwallis comes up and it downloads a st tr tx manual, sounds like a relief valve on the hydraulic side which is activating when the steering is on full lock and oil is being diverted? Not sure but I would have thought somebody on here would be able to offer advise

Hi,
I don't know the Holman dumpers but other makes I've worked on the tip relief valves are set to about 1,750 psi. and the steering set at between 1,000 psi. and 1,750 psi. ( 600psi. sounds very low to me).
Do you have to maintain the pressure on the steering wheel to get it to tip :?: :?: If so I suppose there could be a feed back of pressure from the steering to the tipping spool :?: :?:
I think the relief valve in the tipping circuit would have to be at fault for that to happen.
Where did you take your pressure reading from :?: :?:

Fred
I took the reading from the outlet of the pump, should I try somewhere else's?

Hi Paul,
That should be fine.
The pressure is obviously too low, could be the pump but sounds like a releif valve problem to me.
