Nimbus Thwaite's dumper

Hi we have on our yard a small dumper. The clutch is not working rumour control says triumph herald brake shoes
How to adjust ....any tips ....it needs a bit of welding

Hi Rick and welcome :wave: somebody on here should be able to offer you some advice plus if you hunt through the dumper topic I'm sure this has been mentioned in the past so you may find your answer there too. :thumbup:

Thanks it's just the system is no doubt quite simple the lack of documentation and parts is slowing down what should be an straightforward task. The clutch mechanism has about 30 odd years of rust had to grind off all bolts to access clutch thank you for message

Hi Humber I think your clutch /brake works with the brake in the on position and when you press the clutch you realease to change gear the brake linings will proberbly worn out you will have to have them relined

there is an adjuster on the face of the clutch drum. And yes, I believe that the shoes are from a Herald.

Hi,
To adjust the clutch you have to get someone to hold the pedal right down and then tighten the adjuster on the back-plate all the way. Slack it back about two flats till the drum is just free and that's all that's to it. :thumbup:
I seem to remember that they used Triumph Herald shoes too, but it was a long time ago and I can't be sure. :think:
