4000 all drive axle

Post #1 by Passable » Sun Feb 07, 2016 2:49 am

Hi hoping someone can help me.I have a old thwaites dumper believed to be 4000 all drive. the rear axle has gone does anyone know what axle was used on them and is the front axle the same as the rear. I was thinking of swapping the front for the rear and running as 2 wheel drive.

Have you inboard or outboard brakes?

It's got brake shoes and drums behind the wheels

Yes it looks the same as mine. Is the front axle the same as the back? I've been told they are series 1 landrover rear axles I don't know if that's right or not.
