Ronan I may stand to be corrected here but I would have thought that reference would more likely be from the steel manufacturer?

Quite possibly Jeremy... I steam cleaned it at the weekend and I spotted that number on the lower left-hand chassis rail .. it's the only number I've seen yet but it dosent really seem like a chassis number either... I've the back of it stripped down to take out the steering box and a few other bits so I might find summit else as I take it apart...

I think you are correct the Lilleshall is a reference to the Lilleshall steel company who produced rolled steel in the 60's in Shifnl Shropshire
