Hi Everyone, happy new year to you all,
I have just had the head gaskets changed on my old dumper and after about 1/2 hour of use I have noticed that one of the injector pipes is leaking where it meets the pump. After a while it starts to "steam" diesel fumes as it sits on the block . I have tried tightening up the connector but it doesn't make any difference . A friend of mine has suggested wrapping some ptfe tape around the olive on the end of the injector pipe. Anyone had this problem before ? Any suggestions will be appreciated .
Many thanks, Tom

Hi Tom; I would completely dry off the diesel that has leaked and then run the engine to establish if the leak is from the pipe, the nut where it connects or the part that the pipes nut screws onto. There may be a hair line crack in one of those components but giving PTFE tape a try would be cheap, simple and easy to do, so no harm in trying.
