It's the weekend of the Welland Steam Rally along with its working plant field makes it well worth a visit; although many of the machines are the same as last year the show oozes nostalgia so well worth a visit.

Many CMN members there including Clive on the little Euclid S7 that was formerly owned by John Turney and prior to that Tim Brown had restored it after he had acquired it from Andrew Beaulah.

Ahh you mean Adrian Reeds Terex it is indeed but I love the noise to bits, don't know how I'd feel if I had to operate it for a long period though, specially if I had a hangover.

A couple more or so photos for you; firstly a CMN member not on his 370C! Nice to catch up Ian. The JCB 4D shots are a bit blurry as it started to rain.

What a find Jeremy! The 4DII is very rare, and that's a lovely one you saw there. Looks like one of the last ones with the parallel lift loader arms and white cab. I'm impressed with the size of the back actor, looks much bigger than the 3D version. Nice crawler loader and crawñer excavator in the background too (I can't identify them with these views but I would guess they're a JCB 110 and 5C).

Yes Billy you are correct on both accounts the 5C is a regular visitor to the event, the 4D was there last year, not so sure about the 110.

I wonder how many 4Ds were made? I have never seen one in the flesh, as it were. I bet they were hopeless underpowered on the move.

I seem to remember someone saying around 250 or 270, but not many compared to 3C's and 3D's. Unfortunately it will be difficult to know, as all the machines (3, 3C, 3D, 4D) were in the same serial number series.
