Chipping Steam Fair 2023

Post #1 by Jeremy Rowland » Sat May 27, 2023 10:13 pm

This event never fails to provide something new and certainly attract the crowds; the Classic Plant working field is as ever popular with the public, star of this event for me is the 1985 Caterpillar 215B LC excavator which has been restored and is jointly owned by Geoff Pinder and Stuart Walsh, she did give some excellent displays until a hydraulic hose failed, I'm sure the machine will be back in action tomorrow.
Mark Thistlethwaite also brought along three machines, all JCB; a nice 1987 3CX, his nicely restored 814 and a long reach version of the same machine.
I will post more photos soon.

The long reach is still a quick old machine. There is something not quite right with the dipper set up on my 814S. It is slow pulling in the dipper, all other services and dipper out seem normal.
