The autumn diesel gala at the Severn Valley Railway has been brought forward this year and called the 'spring' gala; this may be down to the 'Flying Scotsman' and 'Tornado' loco's that will be making an appearance on the line in the autumn.
The gala is being held tomorrow and on Saturday with the opening of the new diesel shed at Kidderminster on the Saturday so if you want to go you can still attend the event; I would suggest getting there early, if you live near a train station then Kidderminster station is next door to the SVR station.
I enjoyed the day out although rain in the afternoon stopped me from staying late, the last train to Bridgnorth was at ten in the evening, the Direct Rail Services class 68 loco is Caterpillar powered. There was plenty of smoke 'n' noisy 60's diesels to enjoy, well worth a visit.
